Let's stop boring stretches (Part I)

Let's stop boring stretches


Let me put in another way.  Let's avoid doing stretches without a purpose and challenges.  Add fun instead.  I'm sure everyone is convinced with the benefits of stretches by reading everywhere so I won't talk about that.

Why stretches are boring?

  • Not sure how related to the sport
  • No sense of any purposes.  Distracted by chatting.  Well, maybe not the teamwork but...
  • No time and boring

There could be more reasons.  But let's see if we can reverse these points and,

Have fun with a purpose of the stretch you're actually doing to play the sport

Period.

Warmup: Dynamic Stretch

- Full court jog (3 times) 
- Hamstring Stretch & High Knees 
- Quad Stretch & Hip Kick - Lunges & Frankenstein Kick 
- Hip Stretch & Hamstring Reach -
- Karaoke (Left/Right and face same way) 
- Progressive Skips (Low to High) & Jog and finish

Make sure you notice that each exercise is coupled with a stretch and an action.  This helps you understand how you are using the muscles.

It also engages in cardiovascular activity by increasing the heart rate.  As a result, it will loosen up your body and enables you to transition to another activity.  Don't mention about the fun part.  Make it fun!!
