USA Basketball Coach License and next.

To the next chapter.

2015 started for me as a volunteer parental coach for 4 to 5 years old and the year ended with being certified as a USA Basketball Youth Development Coach.  It was a very fulfilling year from the coaching perspective.  Learned a lot.

So why did I wanted to be a USA Basketball licensed coach?

I think the most important aspect for me to join this program is to connect with the right people, and learn from the best and understand the correct knowledge so that I can continue to learn in the right direction.  It is also important to be able to educate with the correct knowledge.   With that knowledge, I believe I can add my experience and interpret what needs to be conveyed to the next generation.

The next challenge for me would be to bridge.  The bridge to distribute the right knowledge and experience.  To the new generation.  To be as a diplomat for the Japanese basketball community.  It will be challenging to find an innovative and creative way to communicate and I believe this would be a good start to initiate this blog.

USA Basketball認定コーチライセンス取得。そして、

２０１５年を振り返ってみると、４〜５歳児の子供のバスケットボール・コーチのボランティアにはじまり、大人のリーグ戦での選手兼コーチとしての関わりや、老若男女参加の一般練習定期開催、そして年の締めくくりにはUSA Basketball主催のコーチング・アカデミーへ参加し、認定コーチ・ライセンスを取得するまでに至りました。バスケットボールのコーチングという観点から、まさに様々な経験をする年となりました。

なぜUSA Basketball認定コーチライセンスを取得したのか？

１つ目の理由としては、やっぱりバスケットボールが好きで、まだまだ知らない事が多い。そして、知らないからこそ、もっと知りたい。もっとできるようになりたい。という気持ちが強いからでしょう。

２つ目は世界最高峰の機関がどういう事を教えているのか知りたい。経験したい。そして繋がりたい。それを実現したいがために結果としてライセンスの取得に至ったという経緯です。こういう機会があると、チャレンジしてみたいという気持ちは消えません。

最後に、これはアカデミーのレクチャーでも伝えられていた事ですが、誰でもきっかけを与える事ができるという力でしょう。決してプロのコーチである必要は無い。正しい知識と情熱があれば、子供達にきっかけを与える存在でいられる事が可能だからです。だからこそ、正しい知識と見識で伝えたい。偉大な選手にも子供の時代はあるからです。

２０１６年、まずは情報発信から始めていこうと考えています。子供だけでなく、選手からコーチまで。バスケットボールに情熱を捧げる人達のきっかけになる何かを。
